With this event it will see athletes take to the waters of the River Shannon, take to the Roads of Athlone. As a result of this it will be necessary to implement a road closure order on Saturday 06th to Sunday 07th July 2019.

To make the event as safe as possible for the athletes, spectators and residents it is necessary to close specific roads during certain periods of the event.

Athlone Town Bridge, Barrack Street, Castle Street, High Street, Bastion Street, O Connell Street, Connacht Street, Pearse Street, Magazine Road, Canal Banks, Accommodation Road R446 from Bright Ideas to Monaghan Pub at top of Roscommon Road.
Sunday 07th of July 2019 from 2:00pm to Sunday 07th July 2019 at 5:30pm
R446 from Monaghan’s to Shines Pub Baylough.
Alternative Routes Available
N6 – Athlone Relief Road.
Parking will be prohibited on streets associated with the Road Closures. Restricted access will be available on all roads for urgent deliveries and emergency vehicles.
