We are triAthlone which is a long standing sporting event that will be held this year on the weekend of the 8th July. With this event it will see athletes take to the waters of the river shannon, take to the Roads of Athlone. As a result of this it will be necessary to implement a road closure order on Friday 7th to Sunday 9th July 2017.
ROAD CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
To make the event as safe as possible for the athletes, spectators and residents it is necessary to close specific roads during certain periods of the event. These are as follows:

Accommodation Road/Grace Road, Main Street (cobbled area behind Athlone Castle), The Quays.

AthloneTown Bridge, Barrack Street, Castle Street, High Street, Bastion Street, O Connell Street, Connacht Street, Pearse Street, Magazine Road, Canal Banks.

Alternative Routes Available
N6 – Athlone Relief Road.
Parking will be prohibited on streets associated with the Road Closures. Restricted access will be available on all roads for urgent deliveries and emergency vehicles.
